I’m Ville. A battle-tested marketing leader with a global mindset, humor and a ruthless focus on action.

For over a decade, I’ve built, led, and scaled domestic and international marketing operations: running global functions, cutting through noise, and turning strategy into measurable results.

I built V-Lance after seeing the same failure pattern again and again:
flashy corporate ideas with no follow-through, and data-heavy plans with zero soul.

One looks good. The other sounds smart. Neither moves the needle.

Real marketing lives at the intersection of clear, data-driven strategy and human creativity, powered by modern tools, including AI, but never hiding behind them.

And let’s be clear: I have zero tolerance for corporate or LinkedIn jargon. Buzzwords don’t build brands. Empty insights don’t drive growth. If it sounds clever but says nothing, it’s dead weight.

At the heart of it, I saw a real need in the market for step-in style of CMO expert: A Fractional CMO

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: because I’ve done the work, in real businesses, under real pressure.

I’ve sharpened my craft through hands-on leadership, not theory. I’ve led precise focused initiatives as well as scaled global marketing operations across multiple markets. Different contexts, different constraints, same objective: results. Strategy without execution is useless. Execution without direction is chaos. I operate where the two meet.

I believe that good marketing is not magic, it’s a simple, repeatable formula:

  1. Know who buys from you
  2. Know what makes them buy
  3. Know where to reach them
  4. Design → implement → measure → optimize
  5. Profit
  6. Party

Yes, the real world adds friction, nuance, and complexity. That’s exactly why I exist: to bring structure, clarity, and momentum when things stop being simple, right when you need me.

In the past I’ve delivered results in various roles for various companies, both on the marketing agency side at Avidly, and on the other side of the table as head of international marketing for Smartvatten. I’ve designed and implemented strategies for LM Dental, Westas, Cupori and many more.

Originally from Turku and now based in Espoo, Finland, close to the sea, where I belong. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me on the water or on the jiu-jitsu mat. I sail whenever the Finnish summer allows, and yes, some meetings absolutely happen remotely from the deck.

I’m a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, with 15 years of practice and over a decade of competition. I’ve competed both domestically and internationally, with several national titles and podium finishes at European and World-level tournaments.

You could always translate that into “what this has taught me about B2B-marketing” LinkedIn BS, but let’s not go there.

If you didn’t already guess, I’m into all things 80’s, be it action movies, music or muscle cars, hence the branding. I’m a strong believer that life is too short not to have a laugh (especially at yourself) or take it way too seriously.
